I’ll never forget the first time I heard “Butterfly Kisses.” I though what a great song! I was inspired and wrote “Judith’s Lullaby.” I wanted a simple song for my children to remember their ole mom by.
My daughter was three and couldn’t say “Judith’s Lullaby.” My son was just a toddler. Zoey simplified it and referred to the song as “Mama’s Song.” So, it became “Mama’s Song (Judith’s Lullaby)”.
I recorded her praying so I could have a studio do a track and take her in to record. I also had a few children in mind to sing the child’s’ portion of the song along with her. But time flies and life happens.
By the time we recorded this; my pre-teen daughter is so embarrassed by her little prayer and wanted nothing to do with singing. I thank God He gave me the insight to record her praying years ago. I insisted the prayer be included in the song even though the tape had warped over the years and Doug and I struggled to clean it up the best we could.
The best treat is my very own son sings along with me in our very own lullaby. To God be the Glory!

(Chorus 1 - sweetly sung by a child) Sing me a lullaby, mommy, sing me a lullaby. Tell me that when I’m sleep, God will keep me safe and warm tonight. Please mommy sing me a lullaby, Sing me a lullaby, Mommy now I can sleep tonight.
(Verse 1) How can I sing, to a child so sweet and dear? What do I tell them when this world is so unclear? How do I ease their pain at times that’s hard to do? Yet my child, my sweet child I’ll find a song to sing to you.
(Chorus 2) And I’ll sing you a lullaby, to help you sleep tonight, I’ll tell you that when your sleep, God will keep you safe and warm tonight. Always remember that, I do love you! Believe in the Lord for He will pull you through.
(Verse 2) As you grow each day, growing as we must do, Learn to lean on God, have faith and trust Him too. Remember His sacrifice; He made for me and you. Trust Him, believe Him, and He’ll take care of you.
(Repeat Chorus 2)
(Chorus 1 with descant)
